We were recommended a hostel called 'Adventure Queenstown', which had loads of cool stuff (bikes, iPads, GoPro's to hire, free wifi) so we booked ourselves a week there. It was a really nice place, lush bedrooms, kitchen etc. On one of the days they did some building work and removed the balcony doors so we had a huge hole in our room, but they compensated us with a box of beers! Nice one.
Queenstown is the place most people go to scare the shit out of themselves doing bungy jumps, canyon swings etc. Unfortunately we had all run out of money by this point, but Marc and Steven promised to head back down in a few months to do a Canyon Swing. Ahhh!
The second thing people head to Qtown for is the famous Fergburger. They did not disappoint!
After satisfying our burger cravings we headed on a night out with Daniel as it was his last night in Qtown so we partied.
The next day we decided to cure our hangovers with a game of Frisbee golf. It's essentially like mini golf, but with a frisbee. It's good fun but for some reason they put the course on a slope by a lake, which I'm guessing is full of frisbees now.
After a few days we headed to Milford Sound on a day tip, home of the Mitre Peak and NZ's most famous fiords. The journey there was really beautiful, as was the Sound.
We jumped on a boat to see the fiords up close, and were lucky enough to be joined by a pod of dolphins!
After a week in Queenstown we set off on a long journey to Christchurch. Unfortunately due to the 2011 earthquake much of the city is still being repaired, with many locals still displaced by it. We were only there for one night and had to catch flights the next day so didn't see any of the city.
And so, after a four month adventure, our travels concluded. After living in and out of each other's pockets since January, Amy and Gareth would leave Marc and Steven in NZ to head back to the UK to live it up in London. Marc and Steven will become latte sipping, croissant sucking Aucklanders (according to a crazy deer hunter).
Thanks for reading guys, it's been a blast.
